Etimología editar

Del protoitálico *teg-e/o-, y este del protoindoeuropeo *(s)teg-e/o-. Compárese el irlandés antiguo teg ("casa") e in-tuigethar ("cubrir"), el griego antiguo τέγος (tégos) ("techo", "casa"), el prusiano antiguo stogis ("techo"), el alemán antiguo dah ("techo").1
